POLICIES

Safety of the people on the ground, in the air, and our equipment (in that
order) is our number one priority, nothing else comes close.  With that being
said, all of our flights are conducted in VFR (visual flight rules) conditions,
with ceilings above 5000’, and 7 miles or greater visibility.  We will not
deviate from these minimums, so please don’t ask.

All of our work is GUARANTEED, we do not ask for any payment until the job
is completed, in your hands, and you have approved of the work

We do not place copyrights on works we provide to you.  However, you agree
that if you decide to place a copyright on a work, you will give us a release
from that copyright.

FAQ’s

Q:  What time of day do you normally take your pictures?
A:  Usually in the morning hours, between an  hour after sun-up and lunch.
The air is usually cleaner, less haze, and much smoother making for happy
photos and pilot.

Q:  How high do you fly when taking pictures?
A:  That depends on the subject being photographed.  The smaller the area
being photographed the lower we go, if we are shooting a 30 acre piece of
property, we may be as high as 5000’ or more to get it all in the picture.  The
law states that we must keep 500’ above all persons, buildings, or vessels
(that minimum climbs to 1000’ feet when over a populated area and we
must also stay 2000’ away from buildings and clouds horizontally)  Most
photos are taken at around 1000’ above the subject for safety reasons.  We
let the zoom lens do the tough work for the tight shots.

Q:  How long after I order will I receive my finished product, or proofs?
A:  We try and shoot all orders within one week of the order.  This however
does depend on weather to an extent.  In the winter a week of unusually low
ceilings and rain can occur, delaying our flights.  This is not usually a
problem in the summer, but it can happen.  We can have proofs back in a
day or so after the flight, if a Realtor, we can e-mail your pictures upon
landing if you wish.

Q:  For shoots, do you provide proofs?
A:  Yes, except for property shoots for realtors (in that case we give them all
pictures taken on a CD ROM, both good and bad, so that the realtor can
decide which is best for their situation).  Proofs are given so that you can
decide which picture is best.  Many people give aerials as gifts, so the proofs
serve as a way to gather the opinions of other family members of business
partners to help you decide on which particular shot or shots to have printed.

Q:  Do you take riders along on shoots?
A:  NO, riders are not permitted on flights.  We are not a part 135 charter
operation (that would be authorized to carry passengers for hire).  We
operate our flights under part 91 of the FAA rules.  To operate under part 135
would cost us about fourvtimes as much just to comply with the law.  If you
are interested in flight training, please ask me, I can help in that department
as well.

Q:  How often does your aircraft get inspected?
A   At least once a year (this is called an annual) and the mechanic basically
takes the aircraft apart (not really, but close) to inspect all of the internal
components, the engine etc.  Realistically, the aircraft is almost always
undergoing one form or another of maintenance (oil being changed,
avionics being adjusted, etc) and it is inspected before every flight to find any
obvious critical problems.  Again, safety is my primary concern.

Q:  How many pictures do you take of a particular subject when selling the
photos?
A:  About 100 over any given subject, we do this with a fast camera and take
multiple shots because some pictures just don’t come out correctly.

Q:  Can I get additional prints?
A:  Absolutely, (what kind of photographer would I be if I couldn't’t sell you
extras?).  Actually if you want more prints, please ask.  Sometimes suppliers
run specials, making the cost a little less, so the cost varies a little.
